Meet the Board

Wade Whittington, PTA -  President

Wade has been in physical therapy practice in Oregon since 2013, gaining valuable clinical experience in outpatient, skilled nursing, and home health settings. He obtained his Associate of Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant degree at Lane Community College. His clinical interests lie in orthopedics, manual, and vestibular rehabilitation and he enjoys working with a diverse variety of individuals to return them to prior function. He has made Eugene his home for nearly 30 years, where he has been pleased to raise his family.

Michelle Vaughn, QMHA, B.S. - Treasurer

 Michelle Vaughn is the Treasurer for Jerry Adams Aquatic Resilience Program. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from Oregon State University, is a QMHA, and is presently working toward her LCSW. Professionally, Michelle works in crisis intervention, having previously spent 10 years working in emergency communication in Eugene. Her connection to JAAR is also deeply personal: her son, who has Down Syndrome, started with the program in 2024. As a dedicated Oregon resident and parent, she is committed to keeping the organization robust, well-funded, and closely aligned with its mission. 

Martin J. McKeown, JD - Director

Fifth-generation Californian, first-generation Canadian, US-born Citizen. Married for 61 years, father of two smart-assed daughters and grandfather to two grandsons, both in their early twenties. Practicing lawyer for over 50 years. Worked as an Administrative Law Judge and as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Oregon (before being impressed, you need to know there were hundreds). For 46 years, I practiced privately, representing injured workers against the injustice of the Workers' Compensation System.

Avid reader, mystery streamer, political junkie, Francophile, but addicted to Oregon—especially this part, given the multitude of great restaurants. Former salmon seeker; hopelessly addicted Duck fan, but a Gonzaga and Willamette graduate.  As the father and grandfather of children who have benefitted from programs like JAAR, I am a strong believer that we are here to help first and compete second.
